Tell us about the organization or program.: | Under the direction of Teena Wilks and Barry Valleau, the group started in September of 2017 and with a year under their belt, will be known as the 2A Community Band. The exciting thing about this band is that it brings together musicians from Mountain View County and beyond - musicians who loved playing as youngsters and are thrilled to be back playing as adults. If you are a musician, practices take place at the Didsbury High School Music Room, from 6:30 - 8 pm on Monday evenings. The High School is located at 1515 - 15th Avenue in Didsbury. We encourage everyone who has ever played a band instrument to dust it off and come to one of our rehearsals. We perform at everything from farmers markets to our own hosted concerts. If you just love band music and want to volunteer with us, we have started on the road to becoming a non-profit society and are looking for people who might want to participate that way. And we can always use help moving the drums! |
